L'homochromie saisonnière.
Le monde animal... des infos pas banales !
Pour se camoufler, lorsque la saison froide débarque, ils deviennent blancs comme neige ! Appelé "homochromie saisonnière", ce phénomène est un véritable atout pour les petits poilus vivant dans des régions froides.
Voici une liste de quelques animaux qui enfilent un beau manteau blanc pour se fondre dans le paysage :
Le lièvre arctique délaisse son pelage brun-gris pour devenir entièrement blanc, sauf sur le bout de ses oreilles, où ses poils y restent foncés. Dans le cas de l'hermine, c'est le bout de sa queue qui reste sombre. En ce qui concerne la perdrix des neiges, elle passe du brun au blanc et creuse en un petit igloo pour se protéger davantage. Le renard polaire change aussi de couleurs afin d'améliorer son efficacité à la chasse et ne pas être trop vite repéré par ses proies.
Cependant, à cause du réchauffement climatique, il arrive que certaines régions qui étaient habituellement enneigées, ne le soient plus. Ce n'est donc plus un avantage de devenir tout blanc et plusieurs animaux se sont déjà adaptés en laissant leur tenue d'hiver au placard...
